SPINE 2 Congress Practical Workshop: Proteopedia July 3rd, 2008 11:00-16:00
Don't miss the special one-day Practical Workshop on Proteopedia.
Date/time: 3-Jul-2008 11:00-16:00
Venue: CEBGS 2nd floor, room E222.
Be at Strasbourg on July 3rd, 11:00-16:00, one day before the start of the 2nd Spine 2 Annual Congress, to get your hands on the newest tool for communicating Structural Biology and closing the gap between structure and function:
Proteopedia is a 3D encyclopedia of proteins and other biomolecules with a unique capability for intuitively communicating structural information. This is achieved via hyperlinks to 3D scenes of structures embedded within descriptive text. More importantly, Proteopedia is a collaborative, wiki web resource that makes it easy for even non-technical users to add textual and visual content, including 3D scenes of structures.
The Pre SPINE 2 Congress Practical Workshop on Proteopedia will teach you how to use this novel and simple-to-use web resource and, more importantly, how to create and contribute your own content to be viewable by all visitors to the website, or to be projectable by you at lectures, or submittable as supplementary material to a journal article.
Words fail to fully convey the novelty and usefulness of a resource like Proteopedia; to better understand what Proteopedia is, visit: http://www.proteopedia.org and click on a few of the green links near the top of the page.
